The swelling of my ankles came much, much sooner than last time, plus I've decided to be swollen in multiple areas of my body. The veins on my body have also decided to really show themselves. As a result, I have an intersecting, blue freeway system that covers my massive belly, goes up my chest, and makes my arms every phlebotomist's dream. I literally had a nurse tell me on Friday, when I went with my mom to her appointment, that she'd love to try sticking my veins. I should have told her to go ahead as long as she could put me to sleep until the baby came.
The newest fun-ness that I've decided to add to this pregnancy is my favorite so far, and the reason why I'm writing this post at 12:48 in the morning. On Friday evening my back and right shoulder began to hurt a little bit and it made me cranky. I determined that it was caused by the horrible side sleeping, but since I have no other choice but to sleep on my side I went to sleep on my side again.
Saturday morning wasn't too bad, at first, but by the time I got to my regular, preggo doctor appointment I was really starting to feel it. I asked my doctor what I could do about it and was told that I could take some pain medication (tylenol) and get a masseuse or a chiropractor to try and work out the knots.
By the time I got home from my doctor's appointment I hurt so bad that I couldn't lift my little boy out of the car and was pretty much bawling. Luckily my little monkey managed okay without me and was able to climb out by himself. I also discovered, to my shock and horror, that I didn't have a masseuse at my beck-and-call so I would have to try tylenol and wait for my husband to get home from work.
Once Mr. Tigger got home from work and started trying to rub the knots from my shoulder and back he discovered that it most likely wasn't muscle related at all and that somehow I've pinched a nerve or two, which means there's not much I can do about it - lucky for me. And, extra lucky for me the pain is most excruciating when I try to sleep on my side as if I didn't already have trouble sleeping.
So, at this point in the morning I am waiting for the tylenol that I just took to kick in and planning on going to try and sleep in my new bed - the recliner in our living room. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep in an overgrown chair and hopefully this pain will go away in a day or two and hopefully the dog won't try to lick my face all night - hopefully.

Hey preggo,
Dr. Lincoln Clifford, a brilliant Chiropractor in Provo. He's miracle worker I tell you. 801-235-9944. Thats his number if you feel so inclined. If you end up calling make sure they let you see him and not the other guy in the office. Stinkin' side sleeping.
I am so sorry! Cant that baby just show up already and stop torturing you? You only have a few more weeks. When is your exact due date? And for the record, not one pregnancy photo has been shown, and I am a little upset about that. You need to post some pictures before you are not pregnant any more.
For the record, there have been several pregnancy photos shown. Every photo that I've posted of myself since June is technically a pregnancy photo.
In fact if you carefully look through my little boy in our Christmas photo you can see that my belly is huge.
I'm due on March 19th.
Sarah, just imagine your belly times 3 or 4 and you won't need a visual.
Sorry you're having problems. I think at this point in pregnancy you're uncomfortable sleep patterns are preparing you to wake up all night with a newborn.
I'm sorry you're having such a rough time! I'm really missing having an itty bitty newborn, but then I remember the 9 months of fun I'd have to go through to get that baby, and I decide we can put it off a few more months! Good luck, I wish there was something I could do for you!
