Valentines

So I know I'm posting this late, but better late than never. For Valentines my kids had a lot of fun with Grandma Bunnie and at home.

My mom likes to put special prizes in the Valentines mailbox every day the week leading up to Valentine's Day. I know, she spoils them.

The Valentine's breakfast was lots of fun for everyone, including these two cute boys fighting with their balloons.

Who needs breakfast when you can eat a sucker?

Panda loved all the treats.

Afterwards the kids made melted-crayon hearts to hang in the window.

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Alive Day!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and we had lots of fun. We spent most of the day over at Grandma's house where we had a Valentine's Day breakfast (and yes, my mom went all out as evidenced by the pictures), spent time with cousins, and just had lots of fun.

Like I told you, my mom goes way, way overboard.

But, all the kids loved it.

Gotta love a sticky, sticky face. At lease my little monkey did. Mr. Tigger was not as appreciative.

I'm not overly fond of Valentine's Day, mostly because it's a holiday that celebrates everything girly. Pink, purple, and red dominate the day along with flowers and heart shapes and other girly things - think sugar and spice and everything nice. It just isn't my kind of holiday. But, I do like candy and romantic gifts from my husband - so there are a few perks.

These are the roses and funny card from my sweet husband. I love white roses - I know it's girly, but I can't help myself.

Today (February 15th) is the 2 year anniversary of my scooter wreck - the day I almost died, and probably should have. My husband and I have christened it - Alive Day! It's a day where we think about how blessed we are and celebrate life in general. It's also a day where we think about what we've been doing lately and how we can live life to the fullest. Overall, it's a way better holiday than Valentine's Day!

(And no, that's not the car I wrecked into. It's just a car at the compound that they put my scooter against so that it could stay moderately upright.)

Gotta love being alive!
