My Little Creatures

My little creatures are so cute that I decided to let you see them. So here's some recent pics.

What a nice big brother, and so handsome.

Getting ready to catch some rays.

Hanging out with the other animals.

Taking a rest. All that playing wore her out.

Just being cute.

Ditto.

Fitness Friday

It's time to get busy. It's been 4 weeks tomorrow since I've had my baby and it's time to stop looking like a marshmallow - at least not as big of a marshmallow. The Self article promises results in 4 weeks, but if you notice, they don't say what kind of results. I doubt that in 4 weeks, my stomach will look like the one to the left. But, hopefully it will look better than it currently does.

So, I've decided to try and post something about fitness every Friday - hence the title of my post. I figure that this will be more beneficial to me than anyone else. First, I think that it will be a nice reminder for me to get my butt in gear. Second, it will be a nice way to hold myself accountable in a very public way.

To get myself started I got on a scale (ouch) and took my measurements (ouch again) and I've figured that I have 15-20 pounds to lose, but more importantly, I have about 12% of body fat to get rid of. Weight is relative and I hate thinking about how many pounds that I have to lose, because it doesn't necessarily work that way. You get rid of pounds of fat, but you also should be replacing it with pounds of muscle. So I prefer body fat percentage.

So, it's time to get started. Feel free to comment on what you're doing to get into or stay in shape. This week I'm focusing on cardio. I plan to do some yoga and humiliate myself by going running.

5 Years! Holy Crap!

Mr. Tigger and I have been married 5 years today. 5 Years! I don't know where the time has gone. It's weird though because it seems like the time has flown by, but at the same time it seems like we've always been together. Either way, we've had a lot of fun and both love being married.

My friend did a post a little while ago about your wedding pictures and so I'm going to add more to this post tomorrow and try to copy what she did.

Okay here is the post from my friend's blog. You're supposed to put an answer and a picture (hopefully) with the following list.

The Happiest Day of Your Life:
  1. Wedding Date
  2. Where did you get married
  3. How long did you date/were engaged
  4. Were you a Bridezilla
  5. Wedding colors
  6. How many bridesmaids
  7. Where did you honeymoon
  8. Where was your reception
  9. Is there anything you regret or would like to redo
  10. Did you save your cake top and eat it on your first anniversary
  11. How long have you been married
1. Wedding Date: March 19, 2004

2. Where: Married in the Salt Lake Temple

3. How long did you date/were engaged: This answer is tricky. We dated for 2 years and 3 months before Mr. Tigger went on his mission. Then when he got back we dated for a couple of months before getting engaged. We were engaged for about 4-5 months.

Here is us on our first date back in high school. We went to Homecoming on what was basically a blind date. We went to the same high school, but had never talked to each other. My friend set us up and the rest is history.

Here is one of our engagement photos that my brother took for us while we were in Florida.

4. Were you a Bridezilla?: No, in fact I was way more relaxed than usual. It was such a fun day and everything went right, even the weather.

Okay there was that one fight.

But I really wanted that chocolate marshmallow.

5. Wedding colors: My colors were light blue, white, and silver. I didn't think this question deserved a picture.

6. How many bridesmaids: I don't believe in cruel and unusual punishment so I didn't have any. I made up for it by having a large group of family and friends,

a lot of cute nieces,

and several cute nephews.

7. Where did you honeymoon: We spent the first night in Salt Lake City in a castle and then went down to St. George to rock climb and hike around Zions National Park.

We were so excited to go climbing that we started early while still at the temple.

However, the climbing was better in St. George.

8. Where was your reception: The White Willow

It was really pretty and the food was good, so all in all I'd say it was a good place to have a reception. Plus, they supplied everyone with sparklers out front to see us off. The kids, and my brothers, loved that.

9. Is there anything you regret or would like to redo: Absolutely nothing. The day was perfect and Mr. Tigger and I had lots of fun.

10. Did you save your cake top and eat it on your first anniversary: We did save our cake top, but we forgot to eat it on our anniversary. I think we ate it a few days later. I was expecting the worst, but it wasn't that bad.

11. How long have you been married: 5 Years and still in love.

Happy Anniversary!

Do They Fit?

It's been 2 weeks since I gave birth and I'm pretty sure that my uterus is done doing its magical shrinking act and since I've lost so much weight and girth I decided to unknowingly inflict some cruel and unusual punishment upon myself - I tried on my pre-pregnancy jeans, or at least I tried to try them on.

The first pair, and yes I tried more than one, the first pair refused to go on all the way. I struggled and shimmied to no avail - the jeans were not going to go on over my butt. The second pair I tried on were a little bit better. I was able to get them over my butt and, after lying down on the bed and sucking in, I was even able to get them buttoned and zipped up. However, when I stood up the effect was not overly becoming. Think gigantic, fluffy muffin-top.

So, as I told my mom the other day as I kneaded the doughy mass that I currently call stomach, "I guess this is mine to lose." I won't receive any more help from my magical uterus. There aren't any more babies that are going to pop out and help me drop 8 pounds. And I'm pretty sure I've lost the excess water.

On the bright side I do have the ability to lose it. The baby is out and I'm ready to go. Yesterday I played one-on-one with Mr. Tigger for about 30 minutes and, despite the huffing and puffing and gasping for air, I felt pretty good. It just felt good to get outside in the sunshine and be active.

I know that certain people will hate me for saying this, but I actually look forward to losing the weight. I love being active, exercising, lifting weights, etc. It makes me feel good about myself, plus it gives me the little bit of extra energy that I need to keep up with my little monkey and stay awake long enough to feed my mysterious bump in the night.

So, while I sit in that awkward stage where I can't fit into any of my pre-pregnancy pants and feel incredibly uncomfortable wearing maternity pants, I'll keep you posted of my progress towards fitting in, and actually looking half-decent in, my jeans. And in the meantime, you'll be seeing me in sweats.

More Pictures

This is our happy little girl. So far she likes to sleep a lot and cuddle.

We don't have a lot of pictures of her hair, but I thought I'd throw one in. Her hair is longer than it looks in the picture and no one is quite sure what color it is.

Our cute little monkey loves holding his new baby sister.

And you can tell that he is going to be great at watching out for her. Look how attentive he looks. So cute!

I just love this picture and had to throw it in. Mr. Tigger calls her our cute little burrito when she's wrapped like this.

New Baby!

She's Here! She was early! And I'm So Grateful!

My little, mysterious, bump in the night arrived early and is so cute. Here are some pictures and the stats. I'll post more later.

Born 2/28 at 4:03pm. She was 7lbs 5oz, 19 3/4 inches, and has lots of hair.

Happy Alive Day!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and we had lots of fun. We spent most of the day over at Grandma's house where we had a Valentine's Day breakfast (and yes, my mom went all out as evidenced by the pictures), spent time with cousins, and just had lots of fun.

Like I told you, my mom goes way, way overboard.

But, all the kids loved it.

Gotta love a sticky, sticky face. At lease my little monkey did. Mr. Tigger was not as appreciative.

I'm not overly fond of Valentine's Day, mostly because it's a holiday that celebrates everything girly. Pink, purple, and red dominate the day along with flowers and heart shapes and other girly things - think sugar and spice and everything nice. It just isn't my kind of holiday. But, I do like candy and romantic gifts from my husband - so there are a few perks.

These are the roses and funny card from my sweet husband. I love white roses - I know it's girly, but I can't help myself.

Today (February 15th) is the 2 year anniversary of my scooter wreck - the day I almost died, and probably should have. My husband and I have christened it - Alive Day! It's a day where we think about how blessed we are and celebrate life in general. It's also a day where we think about what we've been doing lately and how we can live life to the fullest. Overall, it's a way better holiday than Valentine's Day!

(And no, that's not the car I wrecked into. It's just a car at the compound that they put my scooter against so that it could stay moderately upright.)

Gotta love being alive!
